This blog is dedicated to the sublime instruments called nose flutes and which produce the most divine sound ever. We have chosen to discard all the native models from S. Pacific and Asia, for they need fingering to be played. We'll concentrate on "buccal cavity driven" nose flutes : the well patented and trademarked metal or plastic ones, plus, by a condemnable indulgence, some wooden craft or home-made productions.

Queen Elizabeth II Awakened by Nose Flutes!

Here is an article published in The Brisbane Telegraph, Nov. 6, 1953. I reproduce it here, with a special dedication to our friend Herman V. who recently wrote on our Facebook, about the gracious drawing of a lady playing the Magic Flute: « Even nobility was involved in the project it seems! »

(Yes, I know, some vinegared minds will tell me that they were 'traditional Tongan nose flutes' and not modern models… OK, and so what ?)

What else?

The Sydney Herald, Dec. 17, 1953:

Ouch!! A bit early for a Sunday...
