This blog is dedicated to the sublime instruments called nose flutes and which produce the most divine sound ever. We have chosen to discard all the native models from S. Pacific and Asia, for they need fingering to be played. We'll concentrate on "buccal cavity driven" nose flutes : the well patented and trademarked metal or plastic ones, plus, by a condemnable indulgence, some wooden craft or home-made productions.

Nose flute and musical saw

Two recent pictures of Mr. Kato Hideo playing the musical saw and a clay Bocarina together. We would have liked to attend this event!

  1. Man, he did it! Very courageous... I have been wanting to play those two very special instruments together, but one alone is already quite "sensitive" about intonation, the combination, wow! I would have loved to hear that!
Funny and horrible at the same time? Spherical sounds? Well, let's hope there will be something on youtube one day (not by me I guess...). thanks for posting!

  2. He should come perform that at the NYC Musical Saw Festival

  3. Hello, I will transmit your comments to Mr. Kato Hideo

    1. Thank you for the comment.
Though regrettable, video does not exist.

Costarring of a musical saw and a nose flute is difficult the same with singing with a musical saw, and it is compensating it with performing by turns or making it a long tone. I am still unripe.

By the way, I participated in the musical saw festival of Santa Cruz this summer.
The situation is due to be published before the year end.
