This blog is dedicated to the sublime instruments called nose flutes and which produce the most divine sound ever. We have chosen to discard all the native models from S. Pacific and Asia, for they need fingering to be played. We'll concentrate on "buccal cavity driven" nose flutes : the well patented and trademarked metal or plastic ones, plus, by a condemnable indulgence, some wooden craft or home-made productions.

Sunday amusement...
It's Sunday, and I feel like being allowed to produce some stupid amusement. The idea came with a comment by Mr. Job Te Pas : « Playing it and feeling the forms of the Bocarina... Jaguar E-type! ».
When I see these comparisons, I am very tempted to think that the creators of these different flute types were inspired or influenced by the existing car design! I really would like to hear other people's views, particularly from Mr Chris Schuermans, as he is alive and kicking!
Could it be that the different designs are a sign of the times? Do these designs reflect a certain era? However, the Humanatone was created well before the American 'muscle car'!
In any case, it appears to me that cultural geography plays a significant part here!
This is actually absolutely amazing!!! I really would like to see these 3 photo diptychs on the wall in a big size!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see such comparisons, love it!
Hahahah! Thank you! I'm sorry, I made the nose flute pictures and have them in large format, but got only small sizes for the cars...
ReplyDeleteThe comparison is a great compliment, thank you.

I won't answer for Mr. Schuermans, for sure.
ReplyDeleteI personally think it's a matter of "design spirit"... Yes, Zeitgeist.
This is BRILLIANT!!!!!
