This blog is dedicated to the sublime instruments called nose flutes and which produce the most divine sound ever. We have chosen to discard all the native models from S. Pacific and Asia, for they need fingering to be played. We'll concentrate on "buccal cavity driven" nose flutes : the well patented and trademarked metal or plastic ones, plus, by a condemnable indulgence, some wooden craft or home-made productions.

Professional series - 1 : The Nose Flute Lyra

Yes, dear friends, here is the first video of a series of customizations dedicated to professional players or, at least, noseflutists performing in public. The Nose Flute Professional Lyra is based on an idea by Miss Birdy K., and was built in the Noseflute.org workshops by qualified people, under CEO Patafix-the-cat's supervision.

  1. Great!.

Are you planning an online shop ?, you have the products:

    - Nose flutes in various materials, styles and prices.

    - Accessories: holders, lanyards, microphones, cases, lyras, personal integrated movie partners, etc..

    - Kits: make or customize your nose flute.

    - Books: scores, methods, history.

    - Apparel: t-shirts, hats.

    - Recordings: CDs, videos, MP3.

    - other stuff: jewelery, coffee mugs, baby pacifiers, etc..

"That which we call a nose flute. By any other name would sound as sweet".

    1. It says "Professional series - #1", so I reckon there's plenty more to come... Indeed, Antoine could be our online dealer...:-)

Luis, how fabulous that you were able to trace some Shakespearian lines on the nose flute! Do you have some Whitman or Homer on it as well?:-D

    2. How about Verlaine ?

      Les sanglots longs
      Des flûtes a nez
      De l’automne
      Blessent mon cœur
      D’une langueur
      Monotone.

    3. And yes, Whitman:

"Beat! beat! drums! - blow! nose flutes! blow!
Through the windows - through doors - burst like a ruthless force,"

  2. A great invention, for there is only a limited number of notes and music pieces one can remember. Well done, Ms K.!

This surely helps towards establishing a more professional and theatrical look. One thing though: I haven't actually seen Antoine play from the score...:-)
