This blog is dedicated to the sublime instruments called nose flutes and which produce the most divine sound ever. We have chosen to discard all the native models from S. Pacific and Asia, for they need fingering to be played. We'll concentrate on "buccal cavity driven" nose flutes : the well patented and trademarked metal or plastic ones, plus, by a condemnable indulgence, some wooden craft or home-made productions.

Born nose flutists !

The best integration possible : a nose flute in place of the nose.

The first picture shows a small stone character I photographed in Antwerpen (Belgium), in the Cogels-Osylei street. I stole the second one from Maruebe photos on Flickr. It was shot in Freiburg-im-Breisgau (Germany), in the Cathedral. If you know other of those stone nose flutists, please let me know!

For sure, everybody knows SpongeBob Squarepants!

Here is a Wackylander! In the (gorgeous!) 1938 cartoon by Robert Clampett Porky in Wackyland - The Last Dodo, at 2'10", a noseflutist rises from a flower and plays... his nose.
