This blog is dedicated to the sublime instruments called nose flutes and which produce the most divine sound ever. We have chosen to discard all the native models from S. Pacific and Asia, for they need fingering to be played. We'll concentrate on "buccal cavity driven" nose flutes : the well patented and trademarked metal or plastic ones, plus, by a condemnable indulgence, some wooden craft or home-made productions.

Silver nose flute...

In this video by "Job Te Pas", features a beautiful silver nose flute made by the goldsmith Hendrik Komen in The Hague (Netherlands). It is made from the German "Swan logo" nose flute (incorrectly called Gewa or Stölzel) template. I have no more info on this instrument, but it look like a great great one !

  1. In a small noseflute-contest with 7 in Europe available flutes I did research about 7 variables such as 'freedom of by-sounds','playing comfort' and the 'tonal range'.The researchforum was made of 4 people,i.c. two nosefluters and two musical judges. The best payable flute became the Southafrican "BOCARINA" (Look for this word in YouTube)

  2. Hello Job,

Thanks for your comment. Yes, I already have some Bocarinas, and will publish a review very soon, plus an interview of M'r. Schuermans. They are very good flutes, indeed!

    All the best,
